The saga of health services of the SriMatt began in 1974 with the establishment of the JSS Primary Health Center at Ramanuja Road in the complex of JSS institution. This center was primarily meant for an annual medical check-up of the students from JSS Institutions.
Similarly, another health center was established in 1992 at SJCE Campus. JSS Medical College started in 1984 and the primary health center was upgraded to a 60 bedded hospital in 1986 as a requirement for teaching hospital. Later, it was converted into a 1,200 bedded hospital to fulfil the demand for healthcare services for needy people in and around Mysore region.
